Lessons Learned

A. Eilers Construction completed a full comprehensive interior build-out of approximately 5,000 square feet for a specialized escape game facility. The scope of work included the full construction of partition walls, flooring systems, and ceiling installations to create a highly customized and immersive environment. The project involved intricate plumbing and electrical work, requiring precise rough-ins and connections to align with owner-supplied equipment and themed components. Due to the unique operational demands of an escape room venue, close coordination with the client and design team was essential to ensure all custom-fabricated features—such as hidden doors, interactive props, and audio/visual integrations—were seamlessly incorporated into the final layout without compromising functionality or flow.

Triumphs

The multiple phases of the projects required continuous, hands-on collaboration with the owner and their design team to ensure the seamless integration of all custom-designed features into the build-out. Regular coordination meetings, design reviews, and on-site walkthroughs were conducted to align construction efforts with the creative vision and technical requirements. Meticulous scheduling and proactive project management were critical to maintaining momentum and avoiding delays. Strategic planning allowed us to complete all core construction activities on time and in sequence, ensuring the space was fully prepped, clean, and operationally ready prior to the arrival of the owner’s specialized installation team.
